BookTap

Tap a book, open its card.

BookTap turns cheap NFC stickers into private shortcuts for your physical books. Search by ISBN, title, or author, save the copy on your shelf, then write a small sticker for the inside cover.

How it works

Tag your shelf in three steps.

BookTap looks up book metadata, saves the physical copy on your device, and writes a short NFC URL. The sticker never stores your notes, loans, shelf location, or reading state.

Search the book

Find a book by ISBN, title, or author with metadata from Open Library and Google Books. Pick the edition you own.

Save your copy

Add page progress, shelf location, loan details, and private notes for the exact copy on your shelf.

Write the sticker

Hold your iPhone to a blank NFC sticker. Later, tap the book to reopen its local BookTap card.

Physical libraries

Built for books that move.

  • Track books across rooms, classrooms, loans, and household shelves.
  • Write replacement stickers when a label wears out or a copy changes hands.
  • Keep the NFC payload small enough for inexpensive NTAG stickers.

Privacy

Your shelf stays local.

BookTap has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Search requests go only to book metadata providers while you look something up. Your saved library is stored on your iPhone.
