Tempochron

Mechanical watch timing, from your iPhone.

Tempochron helps mechanical watch owners measure rate, beat error, and timing stability using the iPhone microphone. Pick a watch, verify signal quality, save the session, and compare results over time.

Measurement

Built for practical timing checks.

Tempochron focuses on the readings and workflow that matter when comparing positions or deciding whether a watch needs deeper regulation work.

Live timing

Measure rate in seconds per day, beat error, and BPH lock while the reading settles from the iPhone microphone input.

Trust the signal

Use trust, tick lock, contact, BPH lock, stability, SNR, and live trace views to spot noisy setup or inconsistent ticks.

Watch history

Save sessions on-device, compare positions, review each watch profile, and export CSV, JSON, PDF, or raw captures with Tempochron Pro.

Setup

Get a cleaner reading.

  • Place the watch case or crown directly against the iPhone microphone edge.
  • Keep firm physical contact and avoid handling noise during capture.
  • Let the reading settle for 30-60 seconds before trusting the result.
  • Use setup checks when the app hears bumps instead of clear ticks.

Privacy

Local by design.

Audio analysis happens on-device. Tempochron does not use accounts, ads, or analytics, and exported data is shared only when you use the iOS share sheet.

Tempochron is a diagnostic aid, not a certified replacement for professional timing equipment. Results depend on microphone contact, background noise, watch position, mainspring state, and movement condition.
