Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

FlickerSafe is an iPhone app for measuring light flicker and recommending camera-safe shutter settings. This policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores, and what it does not collect. The short version: FlickerSafe works locally on your device and does not send your camera data to Cognerva.

Camera access

FlickerSafe uses the iPhone camera to sample light intensity during flicker analysis and optional debug captures. Camera frames are processed on-device. They are not uploaded to Cognerva or any third party.

Saved measurement data

If you save a fixture or analysis, FlickerSafe stores fixture names, notes, measurement results, and history locally on your device. This data stays in the app's local storage unless you explicitly export or share it.

Debug captures and exports

If you choose to record a debug capture or export a report, the file is created on-device and shared only when you use the app's share controls.

No accounts, no analytics, no ads

FlickerSafe does not require sign-in and does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking systems.

Network use

FlickerSafe does not need a server connection for measurement. If you tap links to the product website, support email, or App Store pages, those destinations are handled by iOS or your browser.
