Cribly
Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Cribly is a baby monitor app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used. The short version: everything stays on your device.
Microphone
Cribly uses the microphone to listen for infant crying. Audio is processed entirely on-device using Apple's SoundAnalysis framework. No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. The microphone is only active while monitoring is running.
Cry history
When a cry is detected, a timestamp and duration are saved locally on your device (in standard iOS app storage). This data never leaves your device and is not shared with anyone. You can delete it at any time from the Reports tab.
Settings
App preferences (sensitivity, lullaby choice, baby name) are stored locally on your device. They are not synced, transmitted, or shared.
Internet radio
If you choose to use internet radio as a lullaby source, the app will open a streaming connection to the selected station (e.g. SomaFM or WCPE). Your IP address will be visible to those services, as with any audio stream. Their own privacy policies apply. No other data is sent.
Notifications
Cribly uses local notifications to show a status card on the lock screen while monitoring is active. These notifications are generated on-device and are not routed through any server.
No analytics, no ads, no accounts
Cribly contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and requires no account or sign-in of any kind.
Children
Cribly is designed for use by parents and caregivers. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data about children.
