ClockBeat
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
ClockBeat is an iPhone app that listens to audible mechanical clock ticks and estimates cadence, daily rate, tick-tock asymmetry, and short-term stability. This policy explains what the app accesses and stores.
Microphone access
ClockBeat uses the microphone only after you start a measurement. Audio is analyzed on device in memory. ClockBeat does not upload, transmit, or save raw microphone audio.
Saved readings and settings
When you finish a reliable measurement, ClockBeat can save the date, duration, target and measured beat rates, rate estimate, beat error, stability, confidence, and diagnostic counts. It also stores your selected target BPH. These records stay in the app’s local storage on your device.
No accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking
ClockBeat does not require an account and includes no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or third-party tracking system. Cognerva does not receive your microphone audio or saved clock readings through the app.
Your control
- You can delete individual readings or clear all history in the app.
- You can revoke microphone permission at any time in iOS Settings.
- Deleting ClockBeat removes its locally stored data from the device.
Measurement boundary
ClockBeat is a regulation aid. A short acoustic sample cannot establish long-term accuracy or diagnose movement wear, damage, or safety. Clock performance may change with power, temperature, mounting, and movement condition.
